Instead of starting staff trainings today, it was decided that we would instead take a "chill day" which did not mean relaxing around. Instead we took a 1.5 mile hike to a river nearby, yelling every now and then to hopefully scare off any bears that might be lurking around. Once we got to the fast flowing river I found a log that would be a perfect for sitting around a fire on. So one of the other staff member, who also found another log, decided to carry ours back to the house 1.5 miles away. Once I said I was going to do it my stubborn side of me would not give up(even though I might have dropped the log while crossing a river once or twice) and I was ecstatic when I got to house and I was able to finally put the log down right next to the fire pit.
After that, the staff took a little adventure out to check out more of Palmer and Wasilla. On the way they had me drive Big Red, which was our big passenger van and that was la new experience for me but at least I did not crash. The rest of the night flew by and before long ten p.m. rolled around and yet it still looked and felt like five or six at night. I do not think I will have any trouble falling asleep with the sunlight if how spent I am after today is any indicator but It is crazy how the day just flies by and without any night time days just seem to mush together. Tomorrow we start staff training and then my first trip starts are the 19th so big things ahead. A reminder for all who are reading this, let God make decisions for you and create a light for your feet to follow and I promise you will be pleasantly surprised with the outcome.
